PEOPLE who care for frail, ill or disabled loved ones could take a break with the help of Devon Carers, who will be joining West Devon Borough Council's Connect roadshow next month. The roadshow will be visiting Broadwoodkelly, Chagford, Exbourne and Hatherleigh offering free information and advice about council, public and support services. Devon Carers are an independent charity, funded by the NHS and Devon County Council, offering services to unpaid carers. The charity will be at some of the Connect events next month highlighting their grants for respite breaks, subsidised sitting service and well being checks along with the range of other support available to carers. Visitors to the roadshow at Hatherleigh will also be able to find out more about Our Plan – West Devon Borough Council's strategic plan for community needs and council services between now and 2031. Other organisations joining the Connect roadshow will include Citizens' Advice Bureau, Oakhouse Foods and Devon's Wheels2Work – among others. Every session is hosted by a borough council advisor who can help with questions about a range of services from recycling to benefits. Everyone is welcome when the roadshow stops at: August 1 – Exbourne, The Burrow Cafe — 10am to noon, with Devon Carers; August 5 – Hatherleigh Market — 9.30am to noon with Our Plan, Devon Wheels 2 Work, Oakhouse Foods and Citizens' Advice Bureau; August 8 — Chagford Library — 10.30am to 12.30pm with Devon Carers and Oakhouse Foods; August 15 – Broadwoodkelly Friday Market — 10am to noon with Encompass; August 19 — Hatherleigh Market — 9.30am to noon with Action on Hearing Loss and Citizens' Advice Bureau; August 22 — Chagford Library, 10.30am to 12.30pm.
