Chagford v Cockington
CHAGFORD, batting first, lost Andy Paterson to the third ball of the innings.
Gary Sizmur and Arnie Searle took the score to 52 before Sizmur was bowled by Scott Colegate for an attractive 34 in 32 balls; Searle was also dismissed by Colegate with the score at 95.
Lammonby made a quickfire 32 and Colin Mortimore 44 but at 178-7, it looked a moderate score in these good batting conditions.
However the last three wickets put on 95, with Neal Rowlands making 34 and skipper Jerry Christophers 39 to enable Chagford to reach 273 all out in the 45th over.
Scott Colegate was most impressive for Cockington dismissing the first three batsmen to finish with 3-59 in his 13 overs.
Cockington's reply facing this total was typically aggressive scoring 45 in the first six overs at until Nichols was well caught by wicketkeeper Lord off Lammonby for 18. Matt Needham followed in similar fashion next ball for a nought. Comerford just avoided.the hatrick but the following ball was bowled by Lammonby for a duck.
Andy Astley at the other end had already accounted by fellow Royal Navy player Shaun Needham, and he went on to dismiss, Gavin Colegate (14) Peter Needham (0) T Holland (13) and Wyatt (0) and with Lammonby picking up the other two wickets Cockington were all out for 106 to give Chagford victory by 167 runs
Andy Astley (5-46) and Del Lammonby (5-57) that ensured this convincing victory in just 21 overs. They were helped behind the stumps by wicketkeeper Stuart Lord who took three catches and stumped the last man
Chagford remain in third place in the B Division behind Shobbrooke Park in first place and Brixham.
