A PUPIL from Hatherleigh School has won a competition that was organised to encourage West Devon residents to pick up after their dogs.

More than 50 entries were received from creative pupils at North Tawton Community Primary School, Okehampton Primary School and Hatherleigh Community Primary School.

The competition, organised by the borough council and the police, was won by Anna Moyse of Hatherleigh Primary, who has been awarded 12 months' family entry to Plymouth Marine Aquarium.

The school hosted a ceremony on February 6 with the Hatherleigh mayor Cllr Andy Gilbert, who congratulated Anna and her fellow classmates on their efforts in clearing up the community.

The poster will be used at events around the borough.
