IT was a fair cop when pupils at Hatherleigh Primary Community School enjoyed a friendly visit from their local police last Thursday.

PC Dominique Oliver was invited to the school by headteacher Caroline Boother to meet the pupils as part of its 'Stay Safe' campaign.

She said: 'The children in Catkins and Willows class (Years 1 and 2) found out about the work of a police officer as well as being allowed to try out uniform and look inside a police car and learned how to make a 999 call.'
