A GLASS of wine and various nibbles greeted guests who arrived for a gourmet evening of food from around the world at a global evening held in Exbourne.
The event was held in the village hall, which was suitably decked with various flags representing the countries whose food they were tasting.
Guests tried dishes from Morocco, Hungary, Spain, India, Greece and Russia and were able to eat as much as they liked — many came back for second, third and even fourth helpings! The desserts were as varied as the main courses and were followed by a light-hearted quiz.
The Exbourne and Jacobstowe Community Association thanked all those who attended and supported the evening, which raised £660.
Special thanks went to the cooks and those who worked behind the scenes and to Maggie Brady who compered the evening so well.
Everyone is welcome to come along to the next event which will be held on Saturday, June 5 in the Exbourne Community Market.
