NEW employment opportunities are being offered as part of Torridge District Council's drive to create apprenticeships and help people develop a career.

The council is creating new opportunities in the area and has three new vacancies for people to take on an apprenticeship in either finance, human resources or general business administration.

Each apprenticeship will last at least 12 months and those appointed will benefit from a structured development programme facilitated by Petroc.

The leader of the council, Barry Parsons, said: 'I am delighted that the council is about to recruit a number of apprentices.

'As a council we are keen to see local employers introduce good development opportunities and these appointments will show that the council is leading by example.

'Each of the apprentices will benefit from a structured learning programme organised by our partners, Petroc, whilst working as part of a progressive team.'

The apprentices will earn £10,000 per annum.

Application can be made via the national apprentices website at http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk">www.apprenticeships.org.uk
