Devon County Council is warning that a section of a main route onto Dartmoor will be closed during the daytime in the first week of August due to roadworks.

A stretch of the B3212 between Dousland and Princetown will be closed from Wednesday, August 4 to Sunday, August 8 inclusive, between 7am and 7pm, for the council’s highways department to resurface the road.

The work involving surface dressing will take place between these hours on the stretch from just above Yennadon Cross to Plymouth Hill in Dousland, meaning there will be no through traffic or parking on the road at certain times.

The road will be open at night.

The alternative signed route for all vehicles will direct people the long way round up the A386 towards Tavistock and from there to Princetown.

More information on this and other Devon County Council roadworks can be found on this website at https://one.network/custom/devon/

People are also being warned about the increased fire risk on the moor at present due to the hot weather.
