FAMILY and friends of local man Geoff Shepheard have hosted a multiple garage sale in his memory.

Geoff, who had organised the sale along with his friends and neighbours on?Baldwin Drive to raise money for Hospiscare, died on Tuesday, September 13, just days before the sale was due to take place on?September 17. Geoff had been battling a life-limiting illness and organised the sale with his neighbours to raise funds for the Devon charity, which provides free care and support to local people suffering with terminal illnesses and those close to them. As was his wish, the garage sale went ahead, though now in his memory.

With the help of relatives, friends and neighbours the sale combined with generous donation raised £566.61.

Geoff will be sadly missed by his wife Maureen. She expressed her thanks to everyone who attended the sale and to all of those who donated goods.

She said: ‘I just wish to thank everyone who helped prepare for the day and also help at the sale. I couldn’t have managed without them. Also I would like to say thanks for the many cards, flowers and messages of sympathy l have received.’
