JUBILEE celebrations in Hatherleigh on Monday (June 4) begin at 3pm with a procession, led by Hatherleigh Silver Band, to the Square where there will be a bring and share picnic.

There will be a host of local talent to entertain during the tea, including local singers, the school choir, ukulele group to the 'Squire Sisters' dance students.

The town council will be presenting commemorative cups to all Hatherleigh residents of 11 or under, there will be face painting, crown decorating, treasure hunts and other entertainment, plus the results from the school children's Queen's portrait colouring and jubilee poetry competitions.

Celebrations continue in the evening from 7.30pm on Hatherleigh Moor where there will be a barbecue, bar, tug-of-war, live music, the start of the jubilee balloon race, lighting the beacon at 10.15pm, followed by a firework display.
