MATT Woodley of BBC Radio Devon popped into the Victorian Pantry Tea Rooms in Okehampton last week, but not for a cup of tea and slice of cake!
Matt was collecting a cheque from Margaret Allin, who runs the tea rooms, for the princely sum of £535 to go towards the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal.
Margaret helped to raise the money with Alison Hussey by holding an all-day breakfast at the tea rooms, based at the Museum of Dartmoor Life, on April 1.
She said: 'Alison and I put in a lot of hard work on the day.
'We've only got a small place here but we raised a fantastic amount. We heard about the appeal on the radio, and heard them asking for help.
'So being the crazy people we are, we decided to have an all-day breakfast!
'We also have a prize draw and there were many kind donations from people who couldn't make it on the day.'
Margaret and Alison sold 56 cooked breakfasts on the day, and managed to raise £89 from the sale of draw tickets.
The aim of the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal is to raise the money needed for the charity to be able to buy a brand new purpose-built air ambulance. The total needed is about £600,000. The charity operates two helicopters, ten hours a day, 365 days a year. The trust has decided that purchasing a new helicopter rather than continuing to lease one is the most efficient way of spending their hard-earned funds each year.
Margaret and Alison would like to thank everyone who supported the event and says a special thank you to the Bean Feast, Steers of Heathfield and Philip Warren and Son Butchers for their generous donations which made the event possible.
To make a donation to the appeal send a cheque to the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal, BBC Radio Devon, PO Box 1034, Plymouth.
