THE National Trust's Castle Drogo will soon be embarking on a major building project called 'A Design for Life'. After many years of the castle leaking every time it rains, the aim is to make the building water tight.
The trust wants to help visitors to understand this complicated and challenging project, but the question was how. The answer? An engagement activity using . . . Lego!
Visitors will be invited to build their own Lego castle and then test how waterproof it is.
This will not only give them a chance to be creative but will also get the message across as to why the restoration work is crucial to save the castle.
This is where help is needed. Castle Drogo has issued a call to arms for everyone who has Lego in all shapes, sizes and colours hidden away in the attic or garage.
If you have any Lego that you no longer use or need, please either send it in or bring it up to the castle and it will be put to good use.
