PUPILS from the four Dartmoor Federation schools had a special treat last Wednesday.

Children from Exbourne Primary, Boasley Cross Primary, Bridestowe Primary and Lydford Primary all got to enjoy a special drama workshop with Shakespeare4Kidz at Exbourne Primary.

The company specialises in putting on workshops for school children, making the famous works of the bard accessible and fun for children.

The workshops, led by Alex Bond and Adam Damerell, focused on Shakespeare's tragic love story Romeo and Juliet, offering children the chance to try on costumes, act out some of the roles and learn about Shakespeare.

Headteacher Julie Luckhurst said: 'It's something that we put on every year at the school, and as we have just joined the Dartmoor Federation we thought it would be nice to invite the children from the other schools along.

'Everyone enjoys themselves and learns a lot too so it's a nice day for the pupils.'
