CADETS from 2443 Okehampton Squadron Air Cadets recently undertook and completed their first aid life savers plus course.
The course involved various tasks, which saw the cadets practising how to deal with an incident and how to use the appropriate first aid.
The course, consisting of nine hours work, is a vital qualification both in and outside of the organisation.
Senior cadet Nick Browne said: 'I am really pleased with the qualification I have gained and it will go to good use.'
Sergeant Henry Bedford added: 'I enjoyed the course and learnt a whole lot of new things'.
The course was run by Dot Kaines of Okehampton St John Ambulance and is one of many opportunities available to young people between the ages of 13 to 18 year olds.
The cadets enjoy various activities throughout their time, such as flying, gliding, shooting, projects, adventure training, summer overseas camps to RAF stations, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and more.
Anyone interested in joining the cadets can phone Nick Browne on 01837 55044 on Mondays between 7pm and 9.30pm or email [email protected]">[email protected] or visit http://www.raf.mod.uk/aircadets">www.raf.mod.uk/aircadets
