A COMMUNITY food growing project is looking for volunteers to help with the maintenance of one of its plantations this weekend.
The Made-Well project, based at West Fishleigh Farm near Hatherleigh, provides support, training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged or marginalised members of society through its food growing programme.
The project aims to encourage participation by people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
One of Made-Well's key projects is their orchard, maintaining it throughout the year to boost the October apple crop.
On Saturday February 4 between 2pm and 4pm, volunteers can assist the maintenance of the orchard by helping to prune the trees. Volunteers are asked to bring pruning tools if they have them. Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to come and help.
