A HOME-GROWN music festival is set for big horizons after being nominated for three prizes at this year's Festival Awards.

Chagstock, which was launched six years ago by a group of friends, has been nominated in three categories for: best small festival, best toilets and best family festival.

Founder of Chagstock, Si Ford, said he was proud to be nominated alongside some of the larger events.

He said: 'I am really pleased that Chagstock has been nominated for these awards.

'It is very important for us to receive this kind of recognition, even if it is for best toilets — after all, they are one of the things people remember most about their festival experience!

'I would be very grateful if people would take a little time and vote for Chagstock in all three categories. We did have a fantastic year!'

The festival, which started in 2003 as a small event for around 100 people, has successfully run for the last three years.

In 2006, due to the growth of the festival, organisers took a year out to launch it as a public event which started in 2007.

Profits from the festival go to Devon Air Ambulance and WaterAid.

Members of the public can vote for Chagstock at http://www.festivalawards.com">www.festivalawards.com.

Voting ends on Wednesday, October 14 and the winning festival will be announced in November.
