Hele Rovers 3
Chagford 2
CHAGFORD left themselves a mountain to climb after going three goals down, in under 25 minutes. Heaviside, Crookes and Miles all scored for the home side — with the first two goals came from set-pieces.
The visitors hauled themselves back into the game; Andrew Davis put away a penalty and Steve Scott scored a good goal on his debut but there wasn't enough in the Chagford tank to save a point.
This has to be seen for Chagford as a poor result against a team struggling at the foot of the table. Rovers have made some astute signings recently and they will be looking to get clear of the relegation zone before too long. Chagford should now be looking over their shoulders as the teams below them improve.
l The team now travel to Galmpton Gents, kick-off 2.30pm.

Chagford Res 1
Chudleigh Ath Res 0
THE first 15 minutes of this match highlighted the fact that neither team had seen action in recent weeks, thanks to the inclement weather.
Chris Woof had the earliest chance when sent through by Philpott, the forward failing to control the ball when one-on-one with the visiting 'keeper. As Chagford struggled to put passes together, possibly because midfielder Ralph had to drop into defence, Chudleigh enjoyed some possession but without creativity.
Woof was again sent clear, this time down the flank, but shot into the side netting. Chudleigh came back but were unfortunate to see a long range shot clip the wrong side of a post. Chances were rare at either end but, even so, Swift was on form to superbly push another Chudleigh shot round the post.
The second half started quietly until a great individual run from Haxton was stopped by him being upended in the Chudleigh penalty area.
The Chagford midfielder had carried the ball past a pair of defenders, jinked past a third and then cut into the area before being brought to a halt. Jon Scarry stepped up to calmly slot the ball home for the game's only goal.
The introduction of Chris Oliver, in the 55th minute, almost paid immediate dividends as he sent Philpott through but the chance was lost.
As the game closed, Swift was again quickly off his line to smother the ball at the feet of an oncoming forward thus securing a valuable three points.
