THE award winning restaurant at The Horn of Plenty Country Hotel near Tavistock is celebrating its fifth year of charity lunches in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and its 23rd year supporting charitable causes.
From Monday, January 18 to Wednesday, March 23, guests have the opportunity to dine in the 3 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant for a fixed price of £16 for two courses or £20 for three courses.
At the end of their meal, diners are encouraged to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support at Derriford, and thereby directly help people from Devon and Cornwall affected by cancer.
The charity lunches will run every day except Sundays and Saturday, February 13. Diners will enjoy locally produced and seasonal British food with a French flair.
The Horn of Plenty has been working with Macmillan Cancer Support since 2012 and has raised over £27,000 for local Macmillan services.
Sian Ward-Edwards, local fundraising manager for Macmillan said: ‘Having the long-term support from the Horn of Plenty really makes a huge difference locally, as we rely on the community to fund vital services to help people affected by cancer.
‘Thanks to support like this, we have been able to fund a Macmillan GP for Plymouth who will provide tools and information to local GPs about early cancer detection and end of life care.’
Julie Leivers, owner of The Horn of Plenty said ‘We are proud to support Macmillan and to have helped raise over £27,000 for such a great cause.
‘We all know people affected by cancer and this is one way for us to give something back to the community.’
