OKEHAMPTON College welcomed more than 50 exhibitors to talk to students about the different choices available to them, when it held a Careers Fair this week.
One of the successful ventures of the day was the catering supplied by the students themselves.
Vice principal of Okehampton College, Derrick Brett, said: 'The event is great because it offers support to students who are making choices, especially those in year 9 and 11 who will be looking towards their future goals.
'What's also been fantastic is the Year 10 NVQ catering students who put on an event upstairs and cooked food for everyone.
'This is quite a big deal and the idea is to help and guide those students who are starting to make choices about their future.'
The event offered students from Years 9, 10 and 11 the chance to spend the day talking to representatives from organisations ranging from the police force and army, to colleges of further education as far away as Bristol. After school, parents were invited to the event.
