OKEHAMPTON Primary's Year 5 Raven Tor class gave an assembly recently, featuring one of the school's seven strengths for successful learning.
The school promotes curiosity, listening, risk taking, perseverance, independence, co-operation and resilience. The class gave an assembly to the school and parents on perseverance, explaining how not to give up and keep going when learning is tough, to practise a new skill and to think about what went wrong and how to make it better.
They finished with a verse put together by the class: 'Without perseverance we will never reach our full potential, never achieve our goals and discover just how great we can be.
'When maths seems mind-boggling or prepositions are just preposterous, think back to the skater, the frog or the crow and have another go.
'It might be the one that makes the difference!'
