YOU might see a new minister at your Sunday morning church service this week, but there is no need to be alarmed — Okehampton's church ministers are all swapping churches for the day.

Ministers from churches that are part of Christians Together in Okehampton will swap churches to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Traditionally celebrated between January 18 and January 25 in the northern hemisphere, the week aims to celebrate the unity of all denominations of Christianity.

The Rev Jeff Jacobson, of Okehampton Baptist Church, will lead the service at New Life Church. Fairplace Church will receive a service from the Rev Stephen Cook, of All Saints Parish Church, while New Life Church's Pastor Colin Emett will visit Inspiration Church.

All Saints Parish Church will receive a service from the Rev Mike Davies, of Inspiration Church, and Okehampton Baptist Church will have the Rev Philip Wagstaff, of Fairplace Church, for the morning.

In the evening, there is a joint service of all the churches involved within Christians Together in Okehampton at St Boniface Roman Catholic Church at 6.30pm, where the preacher will be the Rev Mike Davies.
