A FIRE crew from Okehampton attended a report of a car smoking following a road traffic collision near Okehampton College on Mill Road on Sunday morning.

Confirmation was obtained at the time of the emergency call that no-one was trapped in the vehicle.

The fire crew made the vehicle safe.

l FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a person trapped inside their vehicle after a road traffic collision at Beaford Moor on Monday afternoon.

Crews from Torrington and Hatherleigh attended the incident just after 4pm to find a vehicle that had rolled over and was stuck between a hedge and an embankment, with one person trapped.

The crews managed to release the male using hydraulic cutting equipment and he was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
