OKEHAMPTON-based Wren Music is launching another series of the music-making workshops.
It follows success of the Make Music With Wren workshops,
The weekly sessions in the Church Hall on Market Street start on Tuesday, January 8 and run from 10am to 11.30am. The sessions will be held every week until February 12.
The Make Music sessions have been specially designed to appeal to people of all abilities and all ages from 16 upwards.
It is hoped that the musical mornings will bring together people from all walks of life, cultures and backgrounds, such as young parents, part-time workers, people not currently working, disabled people, and the retired.
The sessions are completely free, thanks to support from Okehampton United Charity, Devon County Council and funding from the National Lottery's Big Lottery Fund.
Wren Music will provide an array of instruments to try, including guitars, basses, fiddles, concertinas and drums.
For people with their own instruments, all acoustic insrtuments are welcome.
No musical experience is necessary, and there are no auditions. Tunes will be learned by ear and no music reading skills will be needed, although written scores will be provided if desired.
The sessions will be led by professional musician David Faulkner, who has many years leading community-based music projects across Devon and further afield.
