THE money raised by community events in Drewsteignton has been given out to Cancer Research UK and local good causes.

Representatives from Cancer Research UK and other charities received their donations at a special Teignton Fayre barbecue and award ceremony on September 19.

The funds were raised through community events in the parish including the annual Grand Duck Race at Fingle Bridge on Easter Monday, and Teignton Fayre, held on the first Saturday in June.

Cancer Research UK received £1,500 and other local good causes received various amounts to help with purchasing or renewing much needed equipment.
