HATHERLEIGH Players’ latest production Treasure Island The Panto begins its run on February 16.
The show promises the best of traditional pantomime played out against the backdrop of the high seas, with the heroic goodies pitted against the fiendish skullduggery of unbelievably gruesome baddies.
The youthful hero of the seafaring yarn stumbles across a mysterious map, showing the whereabouts of the buried treasure of infamous pirate captain, Squint. Yet he is blissfully unaware that the vessel they embark on is run by none other than Squint’s old gang and his disreputable henchmen.
A rollercoaster of an adventure ensues, both aboard ship and on Treasure Island itself, which is host to a variety of madcap panto characters.
The show starts at 7.30pm at Hatherleigh Community Centre and continues its run until February 18.
