OKEHAMPTON Library welcomes author Tania Crosse on Wednesday October 12.

Tania will discuss her latest book, 'The Wrong Side of Happiness'.

When West Country farm labourer Emmanuel Ladycott and his dairymaid daughter Tresca lose their jobs on the land, they head for Tavistock where Emmanuel hopes to join the hundreds of navvies working on the new railway line through the town.

Emmanuel's dismissal from the railway leaves Tresca distraught, searching for the strength and courage to fight for her future.

The publication of Tania's debut novel 'Morwellham's Child' was inspired by a visit to Morwellham Quay, and she continues to work on her series of novels illustrating the rich history of Tavistock and the rest of Dartmoor from the Victorian age to the 1950s.

Tickets for the event cost £3 and are available in the library. The event is being supported by the Friends of Okehampton Library.
