LAST year was a fantastic one for the Winsford Trust at Halwill Junction, and this year looks set to be even better, and raise even more funds for the upkeep of the historic community building.
The last event of 2010, the Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair, was a resounding success, raising valuable funds for the historic building. The festive atmosphere, enhanced by live music from Five Pound Fiddle, created an inviting ambience.
There were 15 craft stalls, all-day family workshops, warming refreshments, a Winsford exhibition room, plenty of unique Christmas presents and a carol finale lead by Baptist minister Peter Hayes
Looking forward to the next year, the trust starts off with two eclectic music events in February — Friday February 11 sees the Sylvania Singers present 'Friday Night is Music Night', with songs mainly from the musicals and some Ivor Novello thrown in for good measure. The event, at the Winsford Centre, starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 each.
On Saturday, February 19 a winter warmer folk music event will take place at Halwill Junction Parish Hall, with Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll.
The evening, in association with Beaford Arts and Wren Music, starts at 7.30pm, and tickets cost £8 including food.
Tickets for both events are available from Perry Evans by telephoning 01409 221470 or emailing [email protected]">[email protected]
