PUPILS at Lew Trenchard Primary School will be able to climb and play to their hearts’ content next month as the school has new play equipment installed.
The primary school will be installing a climbing apparatus in its grounds for the older pupils, thanks to a grant of £7,500 from the Big Lottery Fund.
Head teacher Tim Woodward said: ‘The new play equipment will be coming towards the end of March. There will be a climbing frame, monkey bars — an all-in-one type of apparatus.
‘This will really benefit the children as the school has doubled in size over the last few years and we’ve struggled with outside space.
‘This new equipment will allow us to give the older kids something to play on and let off some excess energy.
‘We’ve always maintained that if children can play outside and let off energy, they work better in class.’
The new play equipment is hoped to be installed in the week beginning March 20.
