AN 86-year-old cyclist who received serious head injuries after an incident in Okehampton a week ago has died, police have confirmed.

Police are requesting that any witnesses with any information and or dash camera footage come forward, unless they have already been in contact with officers at the scene.

At approximately 6.26pm on Friday, August 28, Devon and Cornwall Police received a call stating that an elderly pedal cyclist had received serious head injuries at the scene of the incident on Tavistock Road on the approach to Okehampton and he was airlifted from the scene to hospital.

Yesterday afternoon family members of the man, who was from Warwickshire, contacted the police to inform them that the cyclist had sadly passed away at Derriford Hospital. His family were by his bedside.
