VOLUNTARY organisation Seize the Moment has set up a new youth arts project in Highampton.

Taking place on Wednesday nights from 5pm to 9pm, the arts club is for youngsters from ten upwards. Members take part in a wide range of activities including street dance, art and crafts, film, photography and sports.

Seize the Moment empowers young people through the arts and new skills. Started as a small community enterprise project by Jane Elliott, the organisation has grown since its pilot project in Hatherleigh during October 2003. Projects include youth clubs across the area, an unemployment project with the SW Foundation, and the Hatherleigh Happy Café, which has recently relocated to the Torridge District.
