THERE are lots of activities on offer to keep active youngsters occupied over the summer holidays as the Okehampton Communities Recreation Association (OCRA) has laid on an exciting and diverse summer holiday programme.
OCRA is offering a host of activities for different ages in a range of locations around the EX20 postcode area. There will be sport and art days, including netball, football, squash, archery, trampolining, sewing, multi-media, painting, sculpting and much more, and a Bike Ability Course which will teach young people the skills and confidence needed to ride their bikes on today's roads. Horse lovers can go on a ride across Dartmoor while others can take to the water with raft building, open canoeing and kayaking in a water activity day.
OCRA is also offering a number of camps, including in athletics, tennis, gym, cricket, netball and art, and the OCRA Woodland Adventure, which will give youngsters the opportunity to build a shelter from natural materials, learn to light a fire from sparks and cook on a camp fire.
