CONCERTS in the West return to Hatherleigh this Saturday for another evening of chamber music.
The cello can be one of the most evocative of instruments. The performance by Gemma Rosfield in the 2007 season is still remembered and the cello features again this year.
This time the cellist is Ben Gregor-Smith who will take to the stage accompanied by Daniel Browell (Piano) who stunned the audience last year with his playing of Ravel's Miroirs. Together they will provide possibly the best of this year's concerts.
Ben is on the cusp of his professional career. He is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won the highest grade in the RNCM Concerto Competition. He has performed with the Lindsay and Dante String Quartets, and in 2008 won the Sir John Barbirolli Cello Prize.
