PEOPLE looking for something fun to do with their children this summer may want to take a visit to Cookworthy Forest.
A series of exciting activities have been organised by rangers at the Forestry Commission for children, including an introduction to bushcraft skills, pond dipping, forest games and orienteering. There will be sessions aimed at five to eight year olds and others aimed at children aged between eight and twelve.
The sessions have been organised as part of the Forestry Commission's Active Woods campaign, which promotes the vast range of health, education and fitness opportunities offered by Britain's Woodlands.
Sessions will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout August. Places are limited so early booking is advised. Each session costs £4 per child, accompanying adults go free.
