A PHOTOGRAPHER from Okehampton will take visitors to the Museum of Dartmoor Life 'on a journey through some of Dartmoor's most dramatic and wild scenery' with her exhibition.

Anna Curnow's 'Discover Dartmoor' exhibition runs from now until May 16. The images capture the moor's most dramatic vistas, mostly at sunset or sunrise.

Anna said: 'The images will take the viewer on a journey through some of Dartmoor's most dramatic and wild scenery.

'The majority of the photographs are taken at either sunrise or sunset which can result in some fantastic light and colours.

'My favourite image is probably the most stunning sunset I have photographed to date.

'It was taken at King's Tor near Princetown and it's the image that the Dartmoor National Park Authority chose to put on the side of their new outreach vehicle.'

Anna lives in Okehampton and is a landscape photographer with a particular love of Dartmoor.

Born in Newton Abbot, she has childhood memories of visiting the moor and being fascinated with the industrial remains of the tramway and quarries around the Haytor area.

She attended Okehampton College and this is where her love of photography first grew.

Anna said: 'My first camera was a 35mm film SLR which I used to take photos for the A-level art and design coursework.

'I can't say I really knew what I was doing back then, but one of the art teachers said I had a natural eye for it.

'That sparked an interest in photography but I only started doing it seriously three years ago – some 25 years later!

'Since then I have held several exhibitions; my last was Ancient Dartmoor at the DNPA Visitor Centre which was a massive success.'
