DEVONSHIRE crossbreed: medium build, handsome, seeks mate for Valentine’s Day, interests are walks, cuddles and dog treats!

Freddie the crossbreed at Margaret Green Animal Rescue has been homeless for ten months and is hoping to find love in time for Valentine’s Day.

Freddie has attracted no interest since his arrival and staff are keen to tell potential adopters what a wonderful pet he would make.

He was rescued with another dog after they were found abandoned. The dogs were both suffering from painful pressure sores due to sleeping on hard ground and they were extremely underweight. Despite having a heart of gold, Freddie was constantly being overlooked.

Joint centre manager Niki Ging said: ’Freddie is an absolute sweetheart and we can’t understand why he’s not attracting the attention he deserves.

’He is a big dog and as he had to have his tail amputated due to an infection, he does look a bit unusual. But we all think he’s really handsome!’

Niki said Freddie has made an amazing recovery since arriving at Margaret Green Animal Rescue. She added: ’He is now enjoying training sessions with his carers and extra-long walks to keep him busy. He’s very clever and picks things up quickly.

’When Freddie first arrived in our care he didn’t know what toys were for. To see him come such a long way is amazing. Now all that is left, is to find him a home.’
