WINKLEIGH Fair is fast approaching and will offer an array of fun activities for all the family to enjoy.
The fair will be opened with the official crowning of the Fair King and Queen on Sunday, July 12, followed by Torrington Silver Band and a balloon race, which will take place in the village square.
There will also be an inter-pub cricket match, barbecue and bouncy castle on the sports field for children to enjoy.
Throughout the week various events will be held including a car boot sale at the sports centre on Tuesday, July 14 at 5.30pm and a dog show from 6.30pm, which will also be held in the sports centre.
The village produce and culture show will take place on Thursday, July 16 and will be followed by bingo in the village hall at 8pm.
Children can enjoy the chance to take part in a treasure hunt on Friday, July 17, followed by an under 11s' disco, which will be held at Winkleigh Primary School.
The footpath group will be setting off on an early evening walk at 6.30pm and there will be pub games and pool competitions in the Seven Stars and King's Arms, with the final of the skittles competition taking place in the evening.
A farmers' market and rural skills event will be held in South Street on Saturday, July 18 from 10am, which will coincide with a vintage car rally in the village square.
Children can get involved and enjoy a Devon life themed fancy dress parade and competition which will start at 1.30pm and there will also be a recycling workshop for primary school children from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 4pm.
During the afternoon there will be entertainment from insect man ReptoBug, who will be giving a talk on the range of insects and reptiles.
The village race, triathlon and grand draw will be available all day, along with plenty of refreshments.
There will be live music from 6.30pm from folk musician Karonlina Gergolova and her band, as well as the Battle of the Bands competition, which will be running throughout the event.
Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the event, which will run from Sunday, July 12 to Saturday, July 18.
