YEAR 3 pupils at Okehampton Primary have been learning about computing as part of the new national curriculum. Children have had the opportunity to learn computing vocabulary, understand how computers follow instructions using algorithms as well as developing their own computer programming and coding skills. Thomas Franke from the Hare Tor class said: 'I have really enjoyed computing. It has been fun learning how to programme the computers to get them to do what you want them to do.' Youngsters were also lucky enough to have an external speaker from Centrica who explained the importance of algorithms and computers in operating their power station in Plymouth.
