TORRIDGE District Council has announced funding for another year of its councillor community grants scheme. Thirty six thousand pounds has been put aside for the fund — £1,000 per councillor — that was set up to help local voluntary or community groups which are there for the benefit of local residents. Councillors are able to join up with other ward councillors to support a wider project, and can offer up to 100% of the total project costs. Councillors may choose to award the whole of their £1,000 budget to one project in their ward, or break the fund down into smaller grants to award to a number of different local groups. If you are interested in applying to the scheme contact your Torridge District Council ward member who will be able to discuss with you the application process.
