WEST Devon band Ten Zero One made a triumphant return to the Okehampton Battle of the Bands competition last week.
Five acts took to the stage in the Charter Hall on July 10 for the contest's second heat, providing another night of fantastic music.
First on stage were Newton Abbot based duo The Skull Kids, whose 60s and 90s influences set the scene for a night of eclectic music. Battle of the Bands veterans Far from the Delta were up next, delivering their dirty grunge blues with energy and style.
Thickets and Thieves offered something different again, with acoustic guitars and drums. Plymouth based Fifty Shilling Tailors were up next, providing a throwback to the early days of Britpop superstars Oasis with a similar sound and stage presence.
The last band on stage were 2011 Battle of the Bands finalists Ten Zero One, who have spent two years polishing their act before returning to the competition.
Their slick performance gave them the edge and they joined the winners of the first heat, 3's a Crowd, in the Party in the Park finale on Saturday, August 3.
Event organiser Chris Hodgson said: 'This turned out to be one of the best and most varied Battle of the Bands heats ever. Another great crowd filled the Charter Hall to witness another night of fantastic music.'
Chris expressed his thanks to BOTB main sponsors Steven's Estate Agents and the Plymouth Inn and all the businesses and organisation that give their support to the event.
