CHARITY Campaign for National Parks and campaigning organisation 38 Degrees will be celebrating the beauty of Dartmoor National Park with two free guided walks.

On Saturday, July 30 the two organisations will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of Britain’s national parks with free organised walks at each park.

The Dartmoor walks will start at 1.30pm at Tavistock Road, Yelverton. One walk will be led by a professional guide who will share the best Dartmoor National Park has to offer, or join in an art in nature walk with a special workshop curated by land artist Richard Shilling.

Fiona Howie, chief executive of Campaign for National Parks, said: ‘For 80 years the Campaign for National Parks has been working hard to make sure that some of Britain’s most beautiful landscapes are preserved for everyone to enjoy and are protected against threats that would have damaged what makes them so special.

‘We’re delighted to be working with 38 Degrees again so that as many people as possible can get together and celebrate the true diversity and spectacular sights of the national parks in the UK.’

Maddy Carroll, 38 Degrees campaign director, said: ‘The UK’s national parks only exist because a group of people came together 80 years ago to protect them.

‘Come and join us to celebrate the 80th anniversary of this amazing campaign.’
