DESPITE the rain, hundreds of festival goers descended on Hatherleigh for a weekend filled with art, music and entertainment.
Hatherleigh Festival, which ran from July 20 until July 23, provided art exhibitions to suit all tastes, music of all genres as well as entertainment for all ages.
Hatherleigh Festival committee member Josie Lloyd said: ‘We had at least 150 people turn up to the festival on the first day and more flocked in over the weekend.
‘Hatherleigh Festival always offers something for everyone. We had fun craft activities for the children and we had the most fantastic bands for those who wanted to enjoy some music.’
Josie said that the art exhibitions this year were incredibly diverse and that there was everything from paintings to photography to challenging contemporary artwork.
Across the weekend each art exhibition was open for the public; in the Old Schools there was an exhibition showing the work of fine art and illustration students at Plymouth University.
Josie, who is a watercolour artist herself, displayed her work at The Pottery.
Resident artist with the Exeter Chiefs Clare Colvin showed off her framed drawings and cards featuring dynamic rugby moves at the Café de Ville.
At the Salar Gallery, Helen Jagger and Michael Moss presented their Poems and Paintings exhibition, inspired by nature and rivers.
Visitors also enjoyed music performances from Lionstar, Hannah and Trefoil and Far from the Delta.
