Two Hatherleigh Primary School pupils have raised exactly £400 through a sponsored bike ride.

Belle Trenaman and Isla Keenor, both aged seven, completed their ride on June 30 along the Tarka Trail from Meeth to Bideford. They had a few short stops along the way with a longer stop for picnic lunch in Torrington.

Belle’s mum Michelle Trenaman said: ‘They were just as smiley at the end as they were at the beginning, clearly loving the ride. The girls are just two best friends who wanted to raise money for their class [Willows Year 2, Hatherleigh Primary School] to get an end of year treat after working so hard all year for their SATs tests.

‘We as parents [Michelle and Gareth — Belle’s, and Jules and Simon — Isla’s] are so incredibly proud of how well they did and how they supported each other along the way.’

Belle’s younger brother James and Isla’s younger sister Renée, both aged four, were included too by waiting at each stop to stamp a passport for the girls and cheer them along their way.
