THOSE funksters Joey the Lips will be hitting the stage on Saturday (December 5) at The Wharf in Tavistock ready for a Christmas party!
With new songs for 2015, high-energy ten-piece Joey the Lips will be performing their ‘Funky Soul, Blues and Disco Revue’.
From Gimme Some Lovin’ to Beyonce’s Crazy In Love, from River Deep Mountain High, to Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now and a finale consisting of a mad ten minute version of the B52’s Love Shack with a heavy metal medley thrown in for good measure, the audience is in for one stomping good night!
The band has worked with Will Young, Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats, Tony Hadley, Toyah, Edwin Starr, Atomic Kitten, and Geno Washington, and performed for Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford at their 2010 wedding. More recently they have appeared at last year’s British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone.
This band really do love what they do, with an on-stage performance that is both electric and infectious. The band features three vocalists, a driving rhythm section and a killer horn section that won’t stay still for a second.
‘The atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric and jaw dropping with totally unexpected showmanship and flair you rarely see these days,’ said Ellie Hudson from The Wharf.
