BURDON Grange Care Home in Highampton celebrated Children in Need with a 24 hour fancy dress fundraiser.

Staff and residents stayed in fancy dress from 8am on Friday November 18 through to 8am the next day, raising almost £200 in the process.

Activities organiser Val Letheren, driver Kelvin Sowden and residents Robert Reed and Michael Hunnings took on the challenge of recreating a scene from 'The Wizard of Oz' dressed as Dorothy, the scarecrow, the tin man and the lion. The quartet then went into Okehampton and Whitehouse Service Station to continue the fundraising fun.

Janice Sowden, matron at the home, expressed thanks to everyone who took part for their efforts.
