WINKLEIGH is hosting an historic transport gathering on Sunday, October 5 from 10am to 4pm.

The Winkleigh Open Day, being held at Winkleigh Old Airfield, will see many attractions, including buses, commercial vehicles, fire engines, cars and tractors.

Of particular interest will be the many older bonneted and half-cab buses and coaches once operated in the area and manufactured before the mid 1950s.

Stalls of transport related photographs, books, models, memorabilia and auto jumble will also be available, along with free vintage bus and coach trips in vehicles of the past, including visits to the local cider factory.

Cost is £5 per adult, £2 for under 14s, £3 for OAPs, or £12 for a family ticket. For more information call 01769 580811.
