TAVISTOCK U13s continued their recent run of good form with a powerful display against their local rivals.
Quick recycled ball from the pack resulted in some superb free flowing back play resulting in tries for Ethan and Dan. Strong driving play resulted in a try from close range for prop Harry. The pick of the first half tries came from a move started deep in his own half by George, who off loaded the ball skilfully to Ben M; he ran 20 metres before passing to Ethan who in turn popped the ball to James and his pace carried him past the remaining Okehampton defenders to score under the posts.
Will P only missed one conversion helping to keep the score ticking over.
In the second half the heavier Okehampton pack started to show their strength in the scrum but Tavistock again moved the ball wide and James completed a well earned hat-trick of tries. Ethan scored his second try after strong run from Ben M, who also scored a try of his own. Richard ran well with ball in hand and Ben L waded in with a score in the corner. After an impressive first half as prop Cam showed his skill with the ball in hand and scored a well worked try while playing as a winger. Kicking into a strong wind George kept his composure and landed a further three conversions.

OKEHAMPTON U12s took a step up this week performance wise, and this resulted in a comfortable victory against a Tavistock side on a windy Sunday November morning.
Playing into the strong breeze, Oke were quickly into their stride and passed the ball more intelligently than they had done all season. First over was an increasingly impressive Joel Tancock, and further first half scores came from Henry Harbourne and Leon Horne as Okehampton spread the ball nicely. Conversions from Corey Holliday (2) and Leon Horne saw the Okes reach the interval 21-0 ahead.
In the second, wind assisted half; further tries came from Ollie Ardon (2), Jack Ogbourne and Leon Horne. Conversions added by Jack Ogbourne and Corey Holliday with one apiece. The Oke pack had a dominant display, although special mention goes to Adam Creasley who made impressive inroads in attack.

BOTH sides were evenly matched for this closely contested local derby game. Neither side was able to get the upper hand until a strong run by Nathan Tomkins, after an Oke line out, ended in a try for the home side, with a conversion by James McCulloch.
Oke's second try came after winning a Tavistock line out and another drive by Nathan to go over with conversion again by James. Oke then seemed to sit back a little which allowed Tavistock to gain important ground and the half time score was 14-7.
The second half saw the visitors continue to pressurise Oke, both in the scrum and on the wings, passing the ball wide and taking advantage of Oke's slowing response, to score a second try and level. A final try by Tavistock during the last play allowed them to snatch victory.
A second game followed, with Oke getting the upper hand this time, winning 28-7.
Kelly Prep U11s 5 tries
Stover School 7 tries
KELLY Prep attacked the try line and put together some good passages of play, linking the forwards with the backs through Jacob Staig, George Kharas and Jonathan Hawley.
Kelly scored the first try after a great deal of pressure due to some good straight running by George Kharas and Oliver Allsop and only a last ditch tackle from Tom Brew and Lachlan Fulton prevented Stover from equalising just before half time. However, a very early try in the second half gave Stover the lead. Some good passing along the backs helped Kelly to maintain most of the possession but a lack of decisive attacks prevented them gaining what should have been a comfortable win.

TAVISTOCK started well and opened the scoring with a well executed try for Henry Varndell-Dawes after some strong work from Oscar Campbell. However, this stirred Okes to drive forward and spending most of the match camped in the Tavistock half.
In the pack for Oke Cole Pengelly, Joshua McCulloch and Barnaby Waddell dominated the scrums. Joshua Burgoyne (2 tries) and Will Cunningham (1) linked well as halfbacks.
Dan Petts tackled well for Tavistock and their backs of Noah Berridge, Harry Richardson, James Kenyon and Henry Varndell-Dawes showed some good hands to move the ball wide and crossed the Oke try line on several occasions but the defence held firm. Will for Oke scored a try after a long run in from his own half, after creating space for himself to work in. Joshua had a solid all round game, scoring two tries with the second being a well timed interception.
James Close and James Stevens as Okes centres showed real strength at the mauls. Saul Holliday and George Cox marshalled their wings well shutting down Tavistock's attacks. Jack Bellamy for Tavistock was unlucky not to score in the corner.
