KICK-BOXER George Nye from North Tawton is delighted with his gold and three silvers haul he won at the South West ISKA kick-boxing championships.

George, aged 12, fought his way into four finals, gallantly giving up one of his golds in his first continuious fight as he refused to fight a young girl — giving her the gold.

George fought in four categories — two being higher weight and height so he was pleased as this will be good preparation for the world championships in Italy in October.

As a member of the england team combat international George is now back training hard four times a week at Te Ashi Do and Tiger style freestyle karate clubs in Exeter and monthly England squad training in Leicester.

George is still looking for help with sponsership as this sport is still self funding; even as a member of Team England he has to meet all the costs for training and the trip to the world championships.
