THE Labour Party has chosen its parliamentary candidate for Central Devon for the 2015 General Election. Lynne Richards has lived in Devon for more than 25 years and within the Central Devon constituency for over 15 years. She has plenty of experience in local government, housing, higher education, commercial and charitable sectors working in health and social care and community development. Until 2011, she was England director of a leading family charity. She said: 'I am thrilled to have received the backing of the members in Central Devon to take on the challenge to return a Labour MP here in 2015. 'Central Devon is not immune to the impact of this Tory-led Government's cuts and decisions. People here worry about the rising cost of living, changes to their NHS services and access to good education for their children. 'I will be working hard over the coming months with our local party and the community to ensure that Central Devon has a Labour MP to be their voice on these issues.'
