OKEHAMPTON Library will be closed for four weeks while it undergoes new refurbishment and minor building work.
The library will be closed from Monday, May 18 for redecoration and replacing of the old wooden book shelves, which will allow more space to accommodate author visits and family events.
In the past, library users have been restricted with the number of people they could hold events for because of the fixed book shelves.
Library users will be able to borrow extra books to tide them over while it is closed and there will also be a substitute service with a mobile library van.
Waitrose supermarket and West Devon Borough Council have allowed the library van to park in the supermarket car park.
The library van service will be open Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 4pm, from Monday, May 18 to Thursday, June 11.
The newly refurbished library will reopen on Monday, June 15.
