FOUR year old Lily Denning from Beaworthy has been chosen as the winner of an agricultural colouring competition.

The contest was run by Simpkins Edwards, who ran the farmyard-themed competition at the Okehampton, Honiton and Holsworthy shows earlier this year. The aim was to keep youngsters busy while their parents chatted to the business and accountancy team on the stand.

After much deliberation, business partners chose Lily as the winner of the one to six year olds category.

Adrian Hemmings, a partner at Simpkins Edwards, said: 'We had over 100 entries but we were very impressed with how Lily stayed within the lines and used realistic colours for all the animals, right down to the pink nose on the cow.

'We hope the prize will encourage Lily to continue with her artistic endeavours.'
