AT Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday the club professional Ashley Moon, invited all members to participate in a competition.

A four ball better ball Stableford was played on holes one to six, Greensomes stableford on holes seven to 12 and on holes 13 to 18 a foursomes stableford was played.

There were numerous prizes on offer to the winners along with 'nearest the pin' and draw prizes.

Winners on the day were Malcolm Hooper and Ian Moore with 45 points; second were Matt Mills and Rod Milsom-Smith with 43pts and third were Chris Askew and Stuart Lewis with 41pts on the back nine from, in fourth Steve Penna and Martin Jewell.

The prize draw was won by Rod Milsom-Smith who collected a new driver.

n In indifferent weather on Wednesday morning the ladies section of Okehampton Golf Club played their June medal.

The winner of the silver Division was Jane Warren with net 68 and second was Lin Atkinson with net 71. In the Bronze division the winner was Michelle Abel with a net 67 resulting in a handicap reduction of one shot, second was Lorna McCurrach with net 69.

The President's team halved their match away at Downes Crediton getting 10 points to Crediton's three and a half.
